Martha Stewart Announces Caregiving Handbook Coming Soon

“He had children who made sure he had a good life … but I saw first- hand the amazingly complex decisions that had to be made … and this is going to be more and more important … to find cost effective ways to take care of the family that doesn’t bankrupt the kids.” Bill Clinton on the Martha Stewart Show.

Martha Stewart announced her plans to create a handbook addressing caregiving on her show today, Wednesday the 26th of September.

“There is no handbook written to pinpoint all the areas of care, not only health but also education, financial, exercise, diet, so I am going to create a handbook for your organization to be distributed to caregivers everywhere.” said Martha.

The handbook will be available both online and in the classroom to help doctors, medical students, and caregivers learn more about the care-giving role.

While Martha’s handbook is not yet available, AGIS offers a wealth of information for caregivers that will be extremely helpful.

Clinton added that he had recently lost his 91 year-old stepfather saying, “He had children who made sure he had a good life … but I saw first- hand the amazingly complex decisions that had to be made … and this is going to be more and more important … to find cost effective ways to take care of the family that doesn’t bankrupt the kids. You are also helping them to be self-sufficient longer. We (baby boomers) have a responsibility to stay healthy and self supporting for as long as they can and I thank you for doing this.”

Clinton appeared on Martha’s show to also introduce newest creation, www.MyCommitment.org, a Web site designed to inspire people to take an initiative by helping make the world a better place.

Everyone is going to be a caregiver at some point. As former President Clinton mentioned, the decisions can be complex and stressful. Make sure you have the Caregiving Resources you need to be ready.

Video of the show can be seen here.
